German Certificates

Due to changes to Austria’s Integration Law, inlingua offers two separate German exams. One examination will be at B1 level for those who require a certificate for the Magistrat MA 35 – Immigration and Citizenship.

The other B1 examination will be for those who only require the certificate for the IAEA language allowance. Both exams will be offered twice a year. The IAEA language allowance exam can also be taken on an individual basis with inlingua. The exams consist of two parts; a written part and an oral interview. Each part to be taken separately.

German B1 Integrationsprüfung

Inlingua offers the official B1 ÖIF Integrationsprüfung twice a year, in March and November (more appointments possible upon request) and it is officially accepted by the MA35 for residence purposes (Daueraufenthalt EU –  and Citizenship). 

  • Written exam

The written part of the exam lasts 100 minutes, in addition there is a 40 minute integration part.

There is a break between the 2 parts.

  • Oral examination

The running order for the oral part will be determined by the examiners (one internal and one external examiner) during the written exam. The running order will be posted latest at the end of the written part. The oral examination is carried out in pairs and lasts 16 minutes.

  • Costs

Exam fees are € 170 per candidate. Fees cannot be reimbursed.

Registration deadline for this exam is two weeks prior to the exam.

German Language Proficiency Exam

inlingua offers the LPE in German at the VIC. The level is B1+ and the exam is recognized for the language allowance.

Staff members who pass the test for this purpose shall be paid a language allowance for proficiency in two official languages, or one official language and the language of the duty station, if the latter is not their mother tongue.

The written part of the exam lasts 2 hours 15 minutes. The 15 minute oral part will be held separately. The fee is € 120,00.

Registration deadline for the exam will be one week prior to the exam.

Flexible scheduling
Flexible scheduling of the exam is possible. Individual exams can be arranged at the VIC or in our institute in the city center (Neuer Markt 1, U1 Stephansplatz). To schedule your exam on an individual date, please contact iaea@inlingua.at. The fee for an individual exam is € 150,00.
