Which WAFF grant is right for me?

The WAFF supports Viennese residents with various funding programmes for their vocational training and further education. Which grant you are eligible for depends, amongst other things, on your employment situation, your income and your personal circumstances.

Chancen-Scheck
The WAFF Chancen-Scheck supports working Viennese residents with at most a compulsory school leaving certificate, as well as people who, despite having higher education qualifications obtained abroad, are working here in unskilled roles. The grant covers up to 90 per cent of course and examination fees (up to 3,000 euros for vocational training and further education) at recognised training providers.

Bildungskonto für alle
With the Bildungskonto für alle, eligible individuals can receive funding covering 50 per cent of course fees, up to a maximum of 500 euros.

Bildungskonto für umfangreiche Weiterbildungen
For certain vocational further training courses, WAFF offers financial support, the amount of which depends on personal circumstances and income.

Maternity Leave and Returning to Work
Would you like to improve your language skills during or after your maternity leave and prepare for your return to work? The WAFF programme ‘Maternity Leave and Returning to Work’ offers advice and, subject to certain conditions, financial support for professional development.

For approved training courses, up to 90 per cent of the course fees, up to a maximum of 4,000 euros, may be covered.

Further funding opportunities
Depending on your professional situation, other funding programmes may also be available, such as FRECH for women who wish to change career direction.

The eligibility criteria vary depending on the programme. Contact WAFF directly to find out about the requirements and which funding option suits your situation.
