Learn languages and advance your career – with support from the Tourismusbeschäftigtenfonds
Do you work in the hotel or catering industry and want to improve your language skills? Subject to certain conditions, the Tourism Employees’ Fund supports the professional development of employees in the tourism sector – including language training.
inlingua Vienna is listed as a course provider with the Tourismusbeschäftigtenfonds. We offer face-to-face German and English courses, as well as selected other languages.
Our group courses can be organised for as few as two people. This means, for example, that colleagues from the same company can come together to form their own private group.
What funding is available for language courses?
Course voucher worth 250 euros
Through the course voucher, the Tourism Employees’ Fund supports eligible further training with a voucher worth 250 euros. The voucher is valid for twelve months and can be used for eligible courses comprising at least eight teaching units.
The funding is aimed, amongst others, at employees in the hotel and catering sectors who are over 55 years old, are on parental leave, or meet certain criteria regarding their length of service in the industry.
Tourism grant: up to 50 percent of course fees
For more extensive further training, 50 percent of the course fees, up to a maximum of 5,000 euros per person, can be funded under the tourism grant scheme.
The requirement is that the course must comprise at least 40 teaching units. Several shorter courses, each comprising at least eight teaching units, can be combined. The course must also meet the eligibility criteria and cost at least 150 euros, including the examination fee.
Depending on your personal circumstances, additional grants towards travel costs or a living allowance may be available. Separate eligibility criteria apply to these.
Which funding you are eligible for depends on both the course and your personal circumstances.
Good to know: Also for courses currently in progress or already completed
You do not necessarily have to wait until the next course starts to find out about funding. Provided the applicable conditions are met, an application can also be made for a course that is already underway or has already been completed.
Important: The application must be submitted to the Tourismusbeschäftigtenfonds no later than six months after the end of the course.
